1.1563.01(W-Nr) - Ultra pure, low alloy carbon steel. 1.1563.01 is made from Armco pure iron #4, purest commercially available iron. Not sure whether or not 1.1563.01 is made by Lohmann for Achim Wirtz exclusively or available for general public. Main highlight is the purity. While Sulfur levels are on par with Shirogami 1 steel(which has the reputation for its purity), Phosphorus levels are ~8 times lower. If you want finest polished edge, 1.1563.01 would be the one I guess. Very fine grained, good edge stability, and overall performance for cutting.

Manufacturing Technology - Ingot

Country - Germany(DE)
